An independent measurement framework.
ParametricIndex.com is an educational and analytical resource focused on defining how parametric risk indices are constructed, disclosed, and verified.
What we publish
A definitional framework for parametric indices: the components that make a contract reproducible, the disclosure fields a definition should expose, and illustrative examples across the most common application areas — natural-catastrophe, climate, agriculture, and energy.
The site is descriptive. It explains how parametric indices work and how they should be documented. It does not quote or settle live products.
What we don't do
ParametricIndex.com is not an insurer, broker, calculation agent, or live data provider. We do not place coverage, recommend products, or publish operational triggers. The example indices on this site are illustrative — their thresholds and payout values are presentational, not market quotations.
Independence
The site is independent and nonpartisan. It is not affiliated with any insurer, reinsurer, broker, modeling firm, government agency, or industry association. Where outside sources are referenced, they are cited by name and product version so a reader can verify the underlying record.
Audience
The framework is written for an audience that already works with parametric structures or wants a precise vocabulary for evaluating them: underwriters, risk managers, structurers, ILS investors, regulators, climate analysts, and researchers. It assumes basic familiarity with insurance and capital-markets terminology, and defines the rest in the glossary.
Part of Clay Indices
ParametricIndex.com is part of Clay Indices, a small family of independent measurement-framework sites covering distinct domains. Each site applies the same disclosure discipline — define the components, name the data source, document the period and scope — to a different subject matter.
